I got 161 instances of that in a Logic 8 session, and used that as the curve against which to judge the efficiency of other plugs. How can that be considered a CPU hog? The JJP stuff has a weird GUI drag thing on my box (which makes it appear to be killing it), but again-doesn't make the VST meter go up noticeably and doesn't make anything outside of itself drag.It could be an issue with how the plug performs on my DAW specifically (Logic).Īlso/or, it could be that I tested the efficiency on the earlier builds of those plugs, where the newer ones (V7) are better optimized.īut the way I measured it was: on a midrange computer (2007 iMac) I found the absolute best-performing non-free plug, which was the Waves SSLEQ.

How do you figure on the CLA3a? It doesn't make a blip on my 8 year old machine.
